But can you view the entire folder? /var? /Applications? everything?

    Or only the Photos area?

    Just curious.

    @ powerpup118 - No, it only mounts /var/mobile/Media
But, you can get crafty and move essential folders to /var/mobile/Media and just symlink them over.
It works perfectly, I have my Downloads, Applications, Web server, and Themes right there = )

ya you cant really edit, delete create in it either from ubuntu. Windows Vista also doesnt recognize as a camera, but lets you see the photos folder as a drive.

I know this thread is 5 months old already but I just wanted to say thanks, I've been looking for a way to access folders outside of /var/mobile/media through USB in linux for a long time and I never thought about using symlinks. It works great.

Well, tonight whilst looking for DSL to install on an old computer, I came across Lucid Linux Beta. I've heard that it has support for itouch, so I decided to give it a try. First off, right out of the box Rhythmbox was able to copy all of the music from my itouch to my computer, and into Rhythmbox itself. Next I tried to copy music from Rhythmbox to the itouch, and it did that as well.

The next thing in line was Photo Management. I opened up the DCIM folder in Nautilus, and navigated to 100Apple, where I found all the pics saved to my Roll. I added one, and I've yet to get it to mirror in my itouch. When I delete photos though, that does mirror.

I currently have an iTouch 3rd Gen.
