iFans "Join the Team" event: Draft Day

iFans' Ultimate Trivia Challenge Update:

The day is almost here and we are about to find out which Mod picked the best team. However, before we kick off this event, there are a few things you should know.

When is the event:

• Saturday, 9/10/11 @ 12 pm PT.

Rules for non-participants:

1. There will be a chat, located on the right of the arena, for your comments. However, anyone who post an answer(s) to a give question(s) will be automatically banned from the chat. Furthermore, depending on the severity of your offense, you may also receive a temporary/permanent ban from this site.
2. Flaming and/or tolling in the cat box is not permitted.
   
3. Members must not help anyone/any team cheat. Any violators will be punished.

Rules for participating members:

1. No cheating
   
   a. You are not to enter any team chat, except that of your own.
   b. You cannot help your opponents during this challenge (i.e. we done want a mole participating).
   c. You are not to intentionally provide fake answers to your team-mates.
   d. You are not allowed to solicit questions/answers from any moderator.
   e. Looking up an answer is not cheating. However, like open book tests, this can be a deadly/slippery path to take. Remember, the team to correctly answer first will win the points (more on this in a few).
2. Only the team leaders are allowed to post in the arena. Unless you are a team leader, you are not to gain access to the arena.
3. You are not allowed to troll/flame another team.
4. You must be a good sport.

How this trivia event will work:

• There will be a series of questions ranging in point value.
• In each round, there will be 5 questions. As the round progresses, so will the point value of the question.
• As the questions increase in point value, their penalty (penalty for answering the question wrong) will also increase.
• Once a question has been answered correctly, all proceeding answers (be it right or wrong) will not affect the current score.
• There will probably be 5 rounds. At the end of each round, a moderator will update the scoreboard.
• The team at the end of the fifth round (5th) will become our champion.

Notes:

• The moderator of each team, will ensure that everyone’s opinion and answers are heard. If a leader acts irresponsibly and/or ignores the team's consensus, the moderator will ask for a time out (at the end of a round) and appoint a new leader.
  
• Only moderators are allowed to call time out. If a team's captain needs a time out, the must notify the team moderator via the team chat. At the end of a round, the moderator will then call a time out and appoint a new team leader. The substitute leader will remain active until the end of the event, unless deemed otherwise.
