This is a discussion thread for the "If Steve Ballmer Ran Apple" story posted on the front page.
Everyone one three.......1..2...3... HELL NO.
Tim Cook still hasn't shown us anything remarkable.. Right now, he's just going off of what Steve's Apple created. That being said, I don't think Jobs would have appointed him as CEO if he didn't have faith in what he was doing. Steve picked Tim Cook for a reason, and I think we only have yet to see why.
As for Microsoft's side of management, I don't think Steve Ballmer has shown anything remarkable in his time as CEO. He's in the same situation as Tim Cook, it looks like. Bill Gates set up the strategy as CEO, and Steve Ballmer is going off of his work.
I could be wrong about Microsoft here, but I also don't read into them as much as I do Apple.
An interesting snip...
1. Microsoft is not irrelevant. Honestly, to hear this is just to ruin the author's credibility in my mind. Sounds like a typically irrational, fanboyish thing to say.
2. Apple hasn't ever "reinvented" consumer computing. They didn't even invent it. They co-invented it, but that's all they ever did.
The last innovative thing Apple made was the original iPhone. Everything afterward was mere derivative. It is thanks to no creative genius of Apple that people took a fat iPod touch, and decided to nominate it as the new PC - except, perhaps, the creative genius of distortion.
If Microsoft had made the exact same iPad, it would have died by the end of the year.
Conversely, if Apple had made the exact same Surface Pro, it would be a roaring success from now, all the way to version 7.0 in 2020.
Not because Microsoft is inferior, but because that's part of Apple's tricks. They were magicians in the days of Steve Jobs. They were masters of stone soup. They could conjour a "revolution" out of nothing. They could make people think a car key was innovative if they wanted to.
Sadly (and fortunately, at the same time), Cook just doesn't have this talent. Apple is a sinking ship with him at the helm.
YOUR POST WAS REVOLUTIONARY!
No, seriously, I like it, lol.
And yes, even my old Nokia brickphone is smarter than Tim Cook.
If Ballmer was ceo of apple I would be using a microsoft phone
If he was CEO of Apple, the world would end.
If he was CEO of Apple, he would still have hair.
