An underclocker for the ipod touch with different modes.
The processor is set at 412mhz at the current time, If we were able to lower it to 200mhz to 300mhz We could save alot of battery for long trips and such.
It should still be able to run mobilemusicplayer.app

I could try but I only know c++ and the toolkit looks hard.

Underclocking greatly increases battery life. LIKE A TON.

I do it on my laptop and psp all the time and i got 10x batter life from little underclocking

edit: If someone finds me some c++ source code used to overclock/underclock computers/pocketpc's I'll try it out.

I'd rather have 2 extra hours if Im only going to listen to music...

note:software overclocking processors isn't very stable.

Belkin makes a handy little battery pack you can attach to the Ipod and run it off rechargeable batteries (or regular). Extremely handy for long trips especially if you're going to be watching videos and what not.

i see where you coming from with large trips and all but yea you should just buy an addon batter or car/plane charger. The ipod probablly wouldnt respond to touch with a low processing speed. You have to rember to firmware take up like 40% of the processing power on this thing. Besides it can last like 16 hours with just music.
