and I like it the way it is...yet I want the latest OS, 2.2.....Once it's jailbroken, can I install it and not lose anything? Like all the crap i've put on it, since I jailbroke the OS that's on it now

first off, call it firmware or software. not OS.

second, you can't. if your device is jailbroken. you have to restore first before you update to 2.2 and jailbreak again. and obviously you'll lose your apps and DL it again.

but if your device is not jailbroken, you can update to 2.2 as well. you'll not lose your apps.

Any applications installed through jailbreak will be removed if you upgrade to Firmware 2.2 and/or jailbreak it.

Why would anyone want to update 'firmware' after all the work involved putting stuff on after jailbraking it? Seriously.

I'm dying to update it right now, but not before it's JB'n. Simply because of speed update. Mine's incredibly slow now whenever I activate "settings" or anything else. It sucks.
