iOS 4.1 If Apple really cares that much about jailbreaking why haven't they used eFuses?

Why doesn't apple just put an eFuse chip in ipods/iphones if they don't want people jailbreaking? I am happy they don't but I wonder why motorola does it but apple doesn't?

Probably because Motorola and Apple are 2 seperate things? Also, Steve Jobs ALSO uses Jailbreak, so maybe that's why.

that would be pretty LOLworthy if it was revealed that Steve Jobs' personal iPhone was jailbroken

Um, do you know exactly what an efuse is? They are technically in every device, which is why when you try to downgrade firmware without the shsh blobs it wont let you. If you know about Xbox Modding(like me) and have built there own Jtag(like me) then you will know about efuses a lot more.

An efuse is something which kills your device when it detects 3rd party editing of the software by deleting the bootline or something.

Basically, like take an Xbox for an example. When Microsoft found Unregistered Dev Kit owners going online in pnet(private version of xbox live for devs) they started blowing efuses making it so the next time they turn the dev kit on, it autoboots into a Red Ring Of Death and no matter what, its a dead device. You can't do anything to fix it once you blow and efuse.

nah I stick to Wii modding, Nintendo is a lot friendlier towards hacking and is A LOT lazier about it than Microsoft/Apple.

eFuse= loss of billions of dollars.
10% of us jailbreak. A lot buy their devices because they can jailbreak.

What kind of idiot with a billion dollar fortune wants to lose it?
