I finally got idevicerestore/activate compiled. I want to load a custom firmware I made. So I did this:

    Code:
    root@LinuxPC:/home/mistic/libimobiledevice/libirecovery/idevicerestore/src# ./idevicerestore mod.ipsw
    usbmuxd_get_device_list: error opening socket!
    90: CPID:8720 CPRV:13 CPFM:03 SCEP:04 BDID:00 ECID:ecid IBFL:01 SRNM:[serial]
Please unplug your device, then plug it back in
    Hit any key to continue...
    usbmuxd_connect: Connect failed, Error code=3
    Invalid return status -3

I have installed every library it needs. Now im in a recovery mode loop

In the past it has gotten to the restore status bar, and stopped, but I could reboot and get it to boot. It also has flashed white, and I see the apple logo like when you are restoring (before the bar). Ive tried this on the iOS4 gm and with my custom 3.1.3 firmware.

Also please note that I have censored my ecid and serial

Do a hard reset by holding down the home and power buttons simultaniously.

OK: I got 3.1.3 clean successfully installed. I can't install:
    -OS4, beta 4
    -OS4 GM
    -Modified 3.1.3

    It says:
ERROR: Unable to connect to recovery device.
    ERROR: Unable to send KernelCache

...in both 4.0 packages, and in the modified 3.1.3 it gets to the progress bar, and hangs forever.
