There is no need for this.

...they're the same damn device. Get over it.

It's better if they stay split up. It doesn't even matter. It's easy to go back and forth between the two.

If multitouchfans is broader than why is everything based on the iPad and then there's a tiny category for the HP Slate and Android Slates. Why isn't there at least a subforum for "Other Tablets" so we have a place to discuss a lot of the other tablets (such as the iTablet which is being discussed in it's own thread in the HP Slate forum...)

And why just tablets? Is this forum focused just on Tablets, or all multitouch devices?

iPod touch Fans and Multi touch Fans are not merging together under one site. Period. Arguing the matter is not going to make it happen.

As bgizzle has already clearly stated, iPod touch Fans is already the largest iPod touch website on the internet. There is absolutely no need to rebrand the already well-established forum.

iPod touch Fans has an iPhone section because the two devices have exactly the same screen size, exactly the same operating system, and almost exactly the same features save a few hardware deals. Additionally, iPod touch Fans' former sister site iPhone Fanatics was set up for this purpose. We did have a separate iPhone forum, but it is needless because they are virtually the same device.

Multi touch Fans has sections for iPad competitors because this site is called Multi touch Fans. It's not iPad Fans or Multi-touch-Apple-devices Fans. However, because our main target audience is those who use Apple devices (see iPod touch Fans), Multi touch Fans is currently focusing on the iPad. It also provides people with reasons for choosing one device or the other, the same reason why there is a small 3rd generation iPod touch competitors forum on iPod touch Fans.

These two sites are not merging because they have entirely different purposes. One is for the iPod touch and iPhone. These are two, small, mobile devices that run the iPhone OS. The other is for the iPad and other larger multi-touch devices, such as Android tablets and the HP Slate.
