Back before 2.0 and the 3g was released ilounge hosted a mockup contest, and one of the entrants has a interesting idea for toggling settings via the homescreen and inside apps. The video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y37dDeRCX14 What I am wonder is since mobile substrate allows one to make plugins and alter dialogs would it now be possible to make a wifi/setting toggle like the one shown in the video? "I am talking about how they tap the wifi icon on the status bar and a dialog bubble pops up that allows you to quickly turn on functions like wifi" If possible this could be a excellent plug in for bossprefs, for instance the wifi bubble could contain ssh and wifi. Where the phone bars or the carrier could manage airplane mode and edge. Also the bluetooth icon could manage bluetooth "of coarse". finally one could make the power status allow one to quickly respring/restart/and shut down. Also I just had another idea of how this could be done, basically there would be a drag down status panel very much like the one on android. Anyways I thought I would ask/suggest this, because it would be a epic extension to interface but I wouldn't even know how to begin this, I'm hoping gojohnnyboi or BigBoss or another willing dev might get inspiration from it.
