I saw this once on Virtual Air Canada forums, the Administrator sends an email looking something like this:

    Dear Users,

If you are a currently active member of this forum, please re-activate your account at this link: http://xxx.com/activate.php, if not, disregard this e-mail, and your account will be deleted.

I see a lot of spammers who still are not banned/deleted, so this would be a good idea, in my opinion. I think there is an in-built vBulletin function that does this.

Well, what if someone is away on holiday?
Or, just doesn't check their email that often?
    Or, missed the email?

The iPodTouchFans servers are pretty reliable and have been upgraded to handle the large amount of traffic received. So it's really unneccessary to delete members.

Agreed. Some people go places in the world other than ipod touch fans.

    GOOD IDEA THOUGH

Also delete solved threads that the thread poster solved without telling how

Don't delete solved threads, we get some visitors from Google, remember. More threads, more visits.

Ohh true I mean just the small ones like if some one needs an icon or a thread where the thread maker solves it themselves.

Yeah exactly. But we should not delete solved threads because A. More visits From google. B. People can look at that to help solve their problem. C. Because it will be their for reference

I don't think this is a good idea. What about the people that signed up with fake emails, like asdfasdf@yahoo.com ?

We don't have that much of a spam problem anyway...
