Now I'm no expert on hacking devices... but I have a basic idea of how it works.

I'm pretty sure the security on the 4G is low... and we'd need someone with the basic knowledge on programming (objective-C?... idk)

But here's my basic idea. In an .ipg (iPod Game) there's a folder with executables. In the directory above, there's a file called manifest.plist which lists the executables so the iPod knows what executable to run.

Now if we made an executable that would "jailbreak" the firmware to run custom firmware... that would be pretty sweet!

Now I have no idea how to do most of this, but it's a small start.

Most likely, the apps are all signed, like the ones for iPhones/iPod touches.
So we would have to bypass that first, which would probably require a "jailbreak", which requires the bypass, etc. etc.

wow seriously? you cant jailbreak an ipod nano..
look up the way ipod linux/rockbox works.. because that would be the best way to hack this.. even tho no one cares about it or theyll do it

well we have full access to the iPod... so that wouldn't be too difficult.

Take a look at the structure of the iPod's files and see.

You really think that that is ALL of the iPod's Filesystem? (I'm assuming that it is the same as the previous generations)
