Windows 8. Sigh, I can't believe they think it is logical for a computer (no offense to those of you who love it, as I have no problem for those who love it :) ). I just can't see oldie users of Windows loving Windows 8 (My dad is switching to a Mac because of W8). Perhaps there will be a Windows 8.1 that removes the tiles?

I can see why the Macs are becoming more popular. Not to say Macs have any more advantage over PCs. It's the OS, and frankly Apple has nailed the perfect ecosystems for both their computer and mobile devices. The two OS's cannot be the same.

    Just my four ;) cents.

Fantastic for touch screens, absolutely horrifying for mouse and keyboard users. Definitely needs a toggle for a for Windows 7 style users(or just build it in the damn thing the first time), while keeping the fast loading times and such. Hopefully someone can create drivers/programs and such for the Mac trackpads to have gestures, then I might consider using it on my laptop.

Actually it technically has a toggle-desktop mode. Not optimal but it's a start.

I think Windows 8 is the best way to go for Microsoft, they are making the right decision. Tablets are the future.

all screens will be touch screen one day, and with win8 that day will be sooner than later.

Isn't it a bit harsh to judge a system from it's layout? That's a bit like judging a house through it's door (or in this case, windows. :p) that can easily be replaced if you wanted it to.
It's faster, you can switch back to old win7 interface (registry editing, but IT'S STILL THERE), and it works.
Not to mention we don't need extra specs for it. Heck, older PCs will have a better chance running win8 rather than win7, what with all the speed improvements. This also means upgrading win7 to win8 won't require upgraded hardware, etc.
And if there are Apple fanboys, there will be Microsoft fanboys. They will buy Windows 8, like Apple fanboys will buy the new iPhone, regardless of bad new features (Windows tiles - switchable using the registry, Apple Maps - will improve and currently has several 'replacements').
A single flaw doesn't make the entire OS bad, unless it keeps crashing (presumably like Windows ME).

You're right about the touch screen part. But the mouse and keyboard will never ever disappear.

I disagree about you saying you can see why Macs are more popular. A lot of people buy them for all the wrong reasons. They see them as superior for their nice premium design and their pretty interface. But once you get on their its a flop of an operating system. Not being a Microsoft fanboy here, but I've useed a Mac, my friends one actually, used it on several occasions for long periods of time. It was a horrible experience. The user friendliness of it was horrible too. Some people may say Windows PC's are hard to use. But it was nothing compared to the struggle I had trying to navigate through my friends Mac. Plus the compatibility for Macs is completely horrible and it has been forever. Not to mention the fact that they haven't changed the OS design since it was basically released. Just small incremental upgrades. I'd also like to mention people buy them because they think their superior because its the Apple brand. A lot of people that have them only use them to browse the web and watch movies. A girl I knew got one as a birthday present. I know f***ing expensive present. And all she does is use facebook and instagram sh*t. Complete waste of money for the parents.

It's hard to believe people aren't smart enough to use a mac.

It works for some. It works better than windows ever did for me. I just enjoy that it boots in less than a minute, comes out of sleep in an instant, works fast. iWorks and iLife is amazing. I just enjoy it more. I'm not a gamer so it doesn't affect me.

That's because not everyone needs a Mac ;)
Yeah it is perfect for a tablet, terrible for an actual computer (laptop/desktop). Well, if other companies actually got going and innovating Windows with gestures, perhaps the laptop experience wouldn't be too bad.
