So, I went to an Apple store because my Ipod wasnt working properly and they entered my ID number into their database and they said that my iPod might not be an Apple product (i.e. a cheap Chinese rip-off). I find this hard to believe, because everything worked perfectly, but has anyone else had this problem? Can I check my ID somewhere online?

Are you kidding me? Where did you purchase this "iPod touch"?

From Ebay. It looks totally legit, everything (jailbreak) worked perfectly, I had NO problems whatsoever since December (now I just f***ed up with updating), it absolutely identical to any other iPod Touch I have seen. I am 99% sure it IS the real deal and there is something wrong with their database.
