Hi, I just jailbroke my iPT 2G 8GB for the first time since 3.0 was released.

I might be missing something fairly obvious - but I've chosen to install Winterboard, for example, through Icy; but after I have done so, it does not show up on the springboard.

The same happens with any other application that I try to install.

    Could anybody help?

Still doesn't work unfortunately, Icy and Cydia both don't install applications to the springboard.

However other apps that don't have springboard applications (like 5-column springboard) install perfectly fine, so I don't know what is going on.

    rejailbreak only check cydia

then go into cydia and go the the changes page press refresh untill a list of changes show up.

then try to install winterboard. It has to do with mobilesubstrate it didnt get installed

    Argh!!

Tried it all again. Restored and installed from scratch, only including Cydia this time.

Went to install Winterboard, which in turn installed MobileSubstrate as well (as a dependancy I guess). It then asked me to reboot the device, which I did, but no Winterboard icon on the springboard unfortunately... :S

this may be a long shot, but try getting SBsettings and going into to poof to see if you have winterboard in there, if it is, then you can just unhide it.
