Is there a way to make a customization where it wouldn't replace the icons, but modify the already existing one?
I mean, for example, add that border on every icon, change the colour teint, etc.

    Is it possible?

For App Store apps and webclips it can be done to some degree. (AppIconOverlay)

You have to make overlays yourself. They won't change the icon, but modify it too fit with the current theme. I'm not sure how to make one, but I do know where to put them when they are made. A side note you will have to refresh your apps somehow. They don't work with apps you already have. I hope I helped!

There is a good example of the AppIconOverlay thingy in the illumine theme
