About a week ago, I found an app called iCaughtU under the "Updates" section of Cydia. A long story made short: this is the newest reason people have to jailbreak their 4th and 5th generation iDevices. iCaughtU is a tweak by developer Itaysoft. The best way to describe it is through his own words: "iCaughtU allows you to take a picture with the front camera (if available) when the lock password is entered wrong and sends it to the user [via email] with more information like Location and a map." The best part? It's free. The tweak catches up on the slack that Apple's own Find My iPhone app left behind. While Apple's app can tell you the approximate location of your lost device, it isn't pin point accurate. If you lost in a public setting, the odds that you'll be able to tell which person picked it up are second to none. iCaughtU, on the other hand, gives you firm evidence and reference to the person that found your device, especially for iPods, which will always show up as being located at the WiFi transmitter's location. Make sure to download it if you haven't already!
It's called Cylay and it is a lot better than both of those. i've had it since it came out. Lost my phone in a movie theater and told the police where to find it the next morning.
^ Never heard of that one before but you're right. However, I like that iCaughtU will automatically take a picture if someone inputs the wrong password to your device, whereas Cylay needs it to be done manually. However (#2), I can see that Cylay may be good to have alongside iCaughtYou because if you are an iPod or iPhone user without a data plan, then the device will only be able to be located and send info from WiFi points that it has connected to before. I say get both!
iCaughtYou is an awesome app. but unfortunately i forgot the icaughtyou password so now i can't use the app anymore. does anyone know how to crack it?
