icall vs whistle phone

    which is better for voip calling on the ipod touch? or is there an application that is even better than those two

    i have whistlephone and it's great so far. i was going to get icall too but i heard bad reviews about it and that u can olny talk 5 mins so i did not bother. however, i might consider trying out icall if it's good. if there are any other programs out there, then i wanna try those out too.

    softphone!!, with it u can enable speaker with mic just like u can with skype and it has speed dial and a keypad

    Whistle: no call time limit, desktop application, better UI IMO

    Definitely whistle. I couldn't get iCall to work, unstable piece of junk. Whistle also doesn't have any time limits, you just cant call outside the US which is fine. Since you pay literally nothing, I believe nothing can beat it.

    The only problem is you don't get a local phone number. This is easily remedied by setting up Google voice to forward to it and then using one of the many Google voice apps for all your outgoing calls. Unintentional positive side effect of this workaround: no audio ads.

    I've never used iCall, but Whistle is great. I know it's a lot better than Fring.
