Hi, i am on the final steps of jailbreaking iOS4.0 using iH8snOw's tutorial

i am at the part when you have to run ibooty for the FIRST time to prepare ipod for custom firmware.

everytime i double click on ibooty it comes up with an error..

i have tried all compatibiliy modes

especially Windows 98/ Windows ME as suggested...

that mode wont even come up with anything.. i double click and nothing happens.. i've waited to see if it is just loading but it doesn't.

please help... everything's been working flawlessly except for ibooty v1.5

i have also tried ibooty v1.4 and that does the same thing as v1.5 (aka no luck)

make sure you have libusb installed and all the correct files in the ibooty directory.

    I think it should have these in it;

    iBooty
    readline5.dll
    sn0w.img3
    wait.img3
    irecovery
    bspatch

and then the other files which are from your firmware.

The new version works without libusb

I had to run ibooty in safe mode on my computer. It works, but it sucks that I had to run in safe mode. Just be careful not to screw up your computer while in safe mode.

Try setting the compatibility to WinXP SP2 then:

right click > run as admin

    this worked for me.

I had that problem, I had to reinstall .net framework 3.5 sp1 from scratch and clear previous installs using microsofts tool

Mine still won't open, even with those settings. I'll try reinstalling .net, but I'm doubtful that it'll work.
