I am a bit confused. The way I know it is:
    -iBoot: software for recovery mode
-Bootrom: chip in processor with boot order

I brought this up because to find out if you have the newer 3G bootrom or older one, you check the iBoot version. And iBoot is in the /Firmware/all_flash folder as iBoot.XXXap.RELEASE.img3.

Download iDetector from ih8sn0w. Put you iphone in recovery mode (or dfu mode the program will tell u wich one) Then press find out my bootrom in the downloaded program! And your done! It will say if you are on new or old bootroom.... To get out of recovery mode without restoring search: how to get out of recovery mode on google
