Hah, that doesn't sound at all irritating.

thats actually a pretty sweet idea and i can see it being plausible (i have no idea how it would be done of course), if someone could make a script that used the accelerometer to trigger the click speaker inside then why not?? im sure it would probably be used more as a novelty than anything else but i like the ideas

That would be a great idea. It could also be set to go off if an incorrect password is entered x number of times.

Well i think it would be pretty harder to do since they would have to have the program running quietly in the background. This might be a little hard since no sdk at the moment.

Mmm...what if the Touch sends an email or whatnot when it's moved?

Aha maybe, I dunno though I think that may be over doing it a little bit...plus it would be much more complex than just making a noise and it would obviously only work if it was in a wifi area when it was picked up.

There is also the problem of how you (the owner) are going to access it without it going haywire on you....unlock it without moving it perhaps??? :S

That's not too big of a deal. Once the app realises the iPod has been moved, there'd be a delay (probably not much more than 5 or 7 seconds is necessary) before the alarm goes off. If you put your password in before the time expires, the alarm won't go off.
