    Okay, here's the deal.
    I have an iPod 3G, 32 GB.
I tried to jailbreak it today on my macbook,
and it appeared to work... at first!

All the sudden this stupid picture of a usb cable popped up pointing to the iTunes logo.

I figured I'd just restore it and start over, but when I tried to restore, it said "unknown error #2001" and that my iPod couldn't be restored.
I've tried holding down the home & power button, and it reboots it, but only to show the exact same thing on the screen.

I don't know what to do, and I'm completely fed up.

P.S., the firmware I used was blackra1n for mac that was supposed to work for 3.1.2.

Try rebooting it to get the USB to iTunes logo, then rerunning blackra1n.

    Thanks!

Somehow after trying a million and a half times my itunes gave up and just restored it for me.

I still want to jailbreak it, but I'm too afraid now..

It's called a Tethered jailbreak. When you reboot it it'll give you the itunes, then you run Blackra1n.

I think This forum should put a Message saying, that after you jailbreak your ipt3g, DO NOT RESTORE, RUN BLACKRA1N again.

exactly what he said. When jailbreaking on the ipod touch 3G you run blackra1n once to jailbreak and once again to boot.
