Hey Guys, I want to jailbreak my 2.0.2 ipod touch mainly just for PocketTouch as this is going to be so useful to me when walking too and from college every day.

My Question is, when the new iPod Touch 2.1 update is available through iTunes, will I still be able to install this even though im running a Jailbroken 2.0.2 firmware. As in.. will Apple deny the update or worse still, will it mess up the device as its trying to write over a modified firmware and if the update is successfull, will the touch still be jailbroken or will I need to re-jailbreak?

    Thanks

nah you can update to 2.1 from a jailbroken device. but it would hurt to restore then update. or click the restore and update when iTunes prompts you to.

That's obviously the point of a restore.

if you restore you lose your stuff but if you upgrade then you keep all official stuff (app store apps, music, videos, photos, contacts, notes, settings etc...)
