I can name 5 users here that would deserve/suit the job of a moderator here.
But I think the excuse and flaming we'll get here will be:

    1) There are too many mods..
    2) All the Mod places are filled.
    3) Let Skylar decide.

    Etc etc etc.

    Thoughts?

    1. There are 23 moderators that I know of (Forum Leaders List), and that isn't a whole lot. 5 are international mods, 5 haven't posted in a long time (kappatango, thomashayes, calevans, Hazed, swedishviking), and 2 aren't terribly active (veryniceipod, macdog303) [but get the job done].
    2. A few mods have just been "demoted." Those being tomsabin and cacahuete.
    3. Why Skylar? bgizzle is the admin.

Interesting thread, but it's most likely going to be closed because bgizzle will decide who will be a moderator, and who won't, seeing as he's the man, and you don't trifle.

I just noticed that swedishviking hasn't posted since october.

It's fairly easy enough, but I think most of the work will be on your end. First of all, buying a blazer is recommended, but not necessary.

Again though, it's all about personality and attitude. You want to be a well defined mod, which must never be confused with a rocker (ot worse, the mocker). Good luck, and I'm sure you will be if you only just try.

Also, I'll bet money that the majority of forum members here won't get this post in the least.

pretty much a sure fire way not to become a mod is to beg for it. thats just generally how it goes at most forums. being a mod isn't all that hard though once you get the hang of it. just don't let the power get to your head and start banning people for no reason and acting like you're above them. mods deserver more respect than regular members but that doesn't mean that they can do whatever they want.

i don't really know what we were supposed to respond to this thread with so yeah... kinda just a random post about mods.

The universal rule for becoming a mod is something along these lines:

If you ask to be a mod, you will never become one!

Of course, that is different to formally applying when a position is advertised, or merely offering your services. Either way, you're probably going to have to buy a blazer and get a dodgy haircut.
