It's called an internal speaker, and it's the sale as the 2g
an external speaker would be somthing you plug into it, something that's not built into it

it's actually pretty cool~ especially when you are gaming on the thing, it's often more convenient to have build-in speakers instead of having to plug in the earphones all the time

it sounds like a small feature, but it makes a huge difference when yr just using apps or games, and dont need headphones.

thats one of the main reasons why i decided against trying the zune hd, it doesnt have one.

just buy a 2g for less if that's what matters to you(you probably wouldn't care about the rest since you seem so clueless lol)

The 3g is about 10% louder, but if you haven't tried either, it doesn't matter. You'd be fine with 2G.

yeah, if you dont know that, chances are, you'd be just fine with a 2g. try to get one used or something. the 3g is only faster...

The speed is what makes it great. I love having nearly zero loading times in games, and having everything run smoothly. Yeah - you can get a refurb 2G from Apple for $150 (8GB), but if you need more space, and want the extra speed, the 3G is the way to go.

Yeah you don't sound like you know much about Touches, but if you have lots of music/videos, get a referbed 2nd Gen from Apple. If you have lots of music/videos, or just have money to spend, get a 3G.
