Grab the .img3 files out of the clean firmware and throw them in the pwned firmware bundle.

would you need to restore to change the boot logo?

Yes, as there is no way to boot from unsigned ramdisks on 2.0, which was the previous method.
A custom ramdisk was sent with a fake launchd that initiated the NOR flashing from files located with a given directory.

I've tried this so many times and I just get an error 6 when it says "preparing to restore". Is there a solution to this problem?

When Building your custom firmware use expert mode and uncheck the custom boot logo, then it won’t overwrite the original with that awful pineapple logo. Hope that helps.
