I thought Spirit wasn't a program?

    I thought this was going to be a jailbreak like it was on the 1.x.x firmwares, where you just visited a site.
    I can't remember where I read it, but I guess i was wrong...

    Its a userland, meaning that the jailbreak doesn't use the bootROM. It just uses a bug in the software, which can be easily patched. Notice the Comex himself warns about this on the website.

    Apple is probably already poring over the program, figuring out how to patch it.

    P.S. Userland doesn't necessarily mean it has to be done via the browser. That's just the form the last userland jailbreak took, back in the 1.x days.

    Is there anyway that this could be ported over to a browser-initiated version?
