Ok, so the other day I went to turn on UNJAILBROKEN iPod Touch 1G on, and it wouldn't leave the Apple Logo. So, I waited a day and tried again, still nothing (the battery was at a full charge at these points). So I manually put my iPod into Recovery Mode while it was plugged into iTunes. iTunes recognized it, and it extracted the recovery software but right after I get an error message (I'm running on a Mac), *The iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (21)*. So, I tried the same thing on another Mac same deal. Please, if anyone has any help it would be much appreciated I'm desperate I really don't have the money to buy a new one and my warranty ran out!

    Sigh. DFU + Restore.

Also, as long as the screen turns on to show the Apple logo and iTunes recognizes it, it's not bricked.

What is "it?" Restore in DFU mode? If so, yes.

dfu, restore, and re-sync. if it isnt jailbroken, just take it to an apple store and get them to fix it, or get a brand new one for free

    My firmware is 2.2.1
About a year ago I think I got water damages in it but i got all the water out but the paper in the headphone jack is still red so I don't think I can bring it to Apple considering also my friend gave it to me.
Also, when I try to put it in DFU mode it flashes white then goes to recovery mode????
