ok, it seems like almost every time I jailbreak 1.1.4 on my 16GB ipod touch with iLiberty, it will lock up within 5 minutes of the jailbreak. If I hold the home and power buttons to force it to power down, and then restart it normally, it will look fine, but then it will lock up a few minutes later....usually in the installer app. I haven't had time to do anything on my ipod except update installer and do a manual symlink through putty. Is iLiberty the safest way to jailbreak? Thats what every one is saying. But I have had this problem numerous times, after what seems like 100's of restores and jailbreaks. I have tried pwning my ipod and uploading a custom firmware that is prejailbroken, but that has the same problem. I don't think it has to do with the hardware though......what should I do?

    try ziphone.

Also if that doesn't work do a restore and set up as new iPod.

I've heard that Ziphone is even more likely to screw up my ipod than iLiberty. And what do you mean by restore and set up as a new ipod?

ziPhone will work as well as iLiberty.

And if it won't work, restore in iTunes, and when it is done and asks if you want to set it up as a backup, click NO, set up as new iPod.

hmm...thats a new trick. I've never heard of that one before. If this works, it will end a month a constant restoring and jailbreaking after crashing.

wait, it didn't work.....now installer app crashes/locks up. The only thing I have been able to install is Bosstool (I always do that). After a month, I have considered bricking my ipod in some nonjailbreak related way and sending it to apple to collect on my warranty.

have you tried pwning it? That will install an entirely new firmware.

yep, still didn't work. Installer still locked up

EDIT: Do you know any sites where I can get custom firmware that is proven to work? Maybe I did mine wrong.

send it to apple and tell them installer doesn't work.
