I'm in the process of jailbreaking my friend's 1.1.3 iPod. I didn't know I had to run iphuc and go through all that in order to do it. I tried to downgrade to 1.1.1 and in the process the iPod went into recovery mode and now it won't let me put ANY firmware on. I've tried 1.1.1, 1.1.2, and 1.1.3 and nothing works. I keep getting an error and iTunes tells me the iPod cannot be updated.

    HELP!

You want to (shift) Restore, not update. You'll need to Restore back to 1.1.1, and begin the jailbreak odyssey from there again.

Tried that, both with 1.1.1 and 1.1.2, still getting the same error. When I did my ipod, I ran into this problem, but it updated in recovery mode, this one isn't.

    Nope. It's bricked.

Just kidding. You WILL be able to fix it, so don't worry. Have you tried force restore? Plug it in, run iTunes, and press home and reset at the same time and hold them. Try uninstalling, and re-installing iTunes. Try rebooting the pc. Do a search... there are lots of answers..

BTW.. you don;t need iPhuc to jailbreak 1.1.3

Yeah, nothing worked. I restarted, unplugged all other USB ports, changed USB port, tried force restore..... iTunes extracted 1.1.1, and when it said "preparing ipod for update" or something to that extent...

The iPod "iPod" could not be restored. An unkown error occurred (-50).

That's the same message I've been getting
