i have many reasons to believe that apple are doing stuff in secret to try and oppress the jailbreak community, such as staff flagging lots of youtube vids and gettin jailbreakin channels suspended. plz tell me what u think of the email i send them and tell me if you thought it was a good idea

First off, i would like to deeply apologize that i am sending an e-mail of this subject to the feedback section, but i simply do not know where else to send it to.

I would like to explain (in a respective way) my opinion of Apple's approach to the jailbreaking scene, and mention a minor request.

It is completely understandable that Apple is absolutely against the exploitation of their firmware caused by jailbreak developers and the users of these exploits. But after all, your customers have payed good money (understandably) for these revolutionary products that Apple have released, however, the official iOS iDevice firmware is free of charge, so does the money given for the hardware and the "no extra charge" of the software not give us the right to do what we please with it?

Really, the reason i have decided to send this e-mail is because over time, quite a few YouTube channels containing videos on jailbreaking and modification tutorials have been suspended over time, and most of the jailbreak community have reason to beleive that Apple staff who use YouTube have been "Flagging" a lot of these videos.

I request that Apple take their approach to jailbreaking and the community bit softer.

I have no problem whatsoever with Apple dev's patching exploits and staff voiding jailbroken Devices warranties, this is completely withing reason of (as i understand) maintaning the tradition of products within the Apple company, but i ask that Apple do not take this "war" outside the barriers of professionalism, as in, staff posting jailbreak hate topics/threads on forums or, as i have already mentioned, flagging popular YouTube videos.

I apologize for (hopefully not) upsetting any staff or causing any arguments.

Please take this lengthy message that took time and thought to make, into consideration

    Many thanks, Yours Sincerely,
    Dimitri Petiot, Aged 14 years

    To be frank, entirely pointless.

I'm not sure what you are talking about, but Apple isn't exactly 'proactive' about stopping jailbreaking. They do patch exploits when they release new firmwares, but that is to be expected: Android OEMs and carriers do the same thing when they release updates, and Android is 'open.'

If they were proactive, then, for example, Apple would be actively testing their hardware for exploits (in other words, the exploit used by limera1n would never have slipped through the cracks).

Also, when emailing a corporate entity, it's probably best to use the best grammar/spelling that is possible.

And why did you apologize so often?

When your trying to make a point and persuade someone/somebody to see your point of view, you shouldn't apologize for what you are saying. It weakens you statement.

I also suggest that you resend this to Steve jobs, even if only to have it be read at all. On the off-chance he does reply, please share! :D

    Side-note:

I think that we should have a day where every single person in the jailbreaking community sends an email like this. That would be awesome, and it might even make a point.

I dont think apple are that against jailbreaking, they patch the exploit because it is a security risk

If they don't patch exploits that come up, they'll be in trouble with carriers over security.

The whole YouTube theory is just ridiculous.
