Ok, a few days ago I jailbroke my iPod (3G) on 3.1.3. Everything worked great until it started crashing out of my music and video apps. I decided to restore (I was also having some syncing problems). Once my iPod restores, I get this stupid prompt EVERY time.

Ive tried uninstalling iTunes, reinstalling an older version, switching USB ports, DFU mode, normal recovery, system restore to when iTunes actually worked, and various other methods. Please guys, if you have anything that could help me Im willing to do it.

Could you possibly try syncing with Sharepod for music, videos and photos.

Also do you have access to a different computer?

I googled your error message (which i reccommend by the way) and found this fix. Try it and see if it works.

Then theres always the Apple support forum topic to look for a fix

I guess I'll try that if I can even get a firmware running on this thing. Does sharepod work with apps to?

Ok I'll try it, I've clicked on like every link on the first page regarding this problem though.
EDIT: Yea, that was actually one of the first solutions I've tried. This is by FAR the most complicated error I've ever encountered.

No, Sharepod doesn't work with apps. No iTunes alternative I know of can sync apps.

Oh damnit. Well I can download apps from my iPod. But is there any way of restoring without iTunes? I'm running 3.1.3, MC model

Throw it into recovery mode, restoring from that, and try again. Jailbreaking might have messed with your permissions for some odd reason and made iTunes freak out.

You can get it into recovery mode right? (If you can't, download blackra1n, if you're on 3.1.3 it will force your ipod into recovery mode and do nothing else, then restore in iTunes)

When you reinstalled and such iTunes, did you reboot inbetween?
