Well I'm looking to buy an ipod. Im new to the whole thing so i have a few questions. If I get an iPod and jailbreak it is restoring to it factory settings a pain, and i have heard tales of the ipod being totally frozen and broken. Are these true? Is jailbreaking a good idea? Also i heard the 2G ipod cannot be jailbroken? If i decide I would want to jailbreak do you think it would be worth it to get a 1st gen rather than 2nd? Thanks

Get a second gen, the jailbreak isn't far off, Restoring doesn't break your iPod unless your stupid/unplug it while its restoring... Jailbreaking is a good idea and anyproblems can be fixed and it can also have many benifits.

Same thing, if you unplug it during the jailbreak process then you are an idiot, but I jailbroke my first iPod and it was easy, just use QuickPwn when it comes out, its safe and hard to do any damage. WinPwn is known to crash and brick iPod, so DO NOT USE IT

There all fake, or caused by idiots who do stupid things basically asking to ruin their iPods, it is nearly impossible to brick your iPod and if you follow the instructions you definitely won't

Also, if you have a jailbroken ipod can you still use Apps bought from the App store?

Yes! Jailbreaking really only adds cydia/installer and keeps all your settings the same. Cydia etc open up the world of fun

I know jailbreaking voids your warranty w/ Apple. If something happens to my ipod what should I do?

Just restore it, and all traces of JB will be gone
