I pod 1st gen hot when charging!

    I really love my Ipod touch but it seems to burn threw the battery extremly fast i cant let it sit or it dies just as fast and when i charge it for the day it takes to charge the ipod so hot it makes me feer that it will blow up! is any one else getting same problem and if so is there a fix? i got the ipod as a gift from work so its not under warinty and i dont want to have it sent in just yet id reather buy a new 2nd gen but if there are some quick tips to fixing the isue so i dont spend to much money!

    Whats normal with an ipod burning you when you touch it? i gess its supose to have some heat but to be so hot you dont want to hold it for more then a sec thats not normal is it?

    Well, the processor does give off some heat, however, it is nearly impossible to know truly how hot yours is (as I haven't held it), but some heat is normal.

    Happens to me, but it's not blazing hot though.

    you could always take it down to an apple store and theyll check it out

    Well my dad use to work for a hobby shop making batterys for dif things like model planes and drills and dif things like that he says its not good for batterys to get that hot because it could cause them to blow up. that would hurt if it blew up in my hand or pocket. lol

    i would take it to an apple store but im in the cold cold north where there are no apple stores nearst one is salt lake but that a over night trip

    mine gets warm too but not like more than 120 degrees though

    If you've had your iPod for under a year (or not sure), you could enter your serial number here and see if the warranty is valid.

    I don't know if the warranty covers batteries...but it might.

    And you can go from there.
