Ok, I know this is in the wrong forum, but anyway. I have had an iPod touch for a while now, and I want to jailbreak it. Before I do, I have some questions.

    1. Is it legal?
    2. Can I still download things off the app store/itunes music
    3. Can I still sync iTunes music?
    4. Can I backup my old iPod and if I want to restore it to that I can do so.
    5. The pros
    5. The cons
    6. Is it worth it?

Thanks for any help, jailbreaking looks awesome!

Also if it is a good idea, any good tutorials?

    1. At the moment, to my knowledge, it's not illegal.
    2. Yes
    3. Yes
    4. You can, but I hear it can cause problems.
    5. Non-Apple Applications, Themes, Emulators, Ability to Change Strings/Names, Mod App Store Applications and more.
5[?]. With more stuff, it might get slower.
    6. Yes, if you find the pros are what you want.

From your details, you have a First Generation iPod touch. Simply use QuickPwn. That's it.

Ok if you say backing up causes problems, anyone know how to back it up safely?

You can back just fine, but it might cause problems on your iPod when you put if back on. I've never had it happen to me, I've backed up just fine.

You don't HAVE to restore, but it's always best to start fresh, and clear out old stuff.

Ok one last thing before I jailbreak my Ipod, if I want to revert back will I be able to?

Edit: I mean like is it extremely hard, or is it like plug and play?

If you ever want to put it back to the original, just restore.

It may leave some things behind so it's better to DFU Restore.
