I just got an iPod Touch 1G, with 2.2.1, and I tried to jailbreak it with QuickPwn and it didn't work, so can someone tell me how to jailbreak this thing? And secondly, iTunes will not recognize it. When I plug it in I get the connect to iTunes screen and my computer says Device driver software was not successfully installed. PLEASE HELP!

    1.Update iTunes
    2.DFU mode
    3.Update to 3.1.3
    4.Visit Jailbreakme.com on the iPod
    5. Jailbroken
    6. Install PDF patch in Cydia.

Call Apple, ask why your iPod won't be detected and say you've already tried recovery mode. They helped me that way when nothing else would work.

Try a different computer. And are you on iTunes 10?
