    hello,

I have a ipod 1st gen i want to jailbreak and it started on 1.1.1 firmware and i tried to update for free with itunes and it only let me go to 1.1.5

My question is, can use shift and restore to go to a 2.2.1 5h11a firmware that i downloaded off of [WeStoleTheDevTeamsToolNameToMakeAQuickBuck].Com without bricking

and the only option to upgrade it gives me to upgrade to from 1.1.5 is 3.0

    Thank You.

so what are my chances of bricking with the firmware i got off [WeStoleTheDevTeamsToolNameToMakeAQuickBuck].Com

If you downloaded it from that PoS site you mentioned then I wouldn't like to hazard a guess as to what it could do to your device :/ Not to mention that it's illegal to redistribute Apple copyrighted firmware code.

However, if you do try it then remember that you can ALWAYS DFU mode restore your device to a stock firmware as the feature is hardwired in so keep that 1.1.5. backed up and handy.
