    i have an ipod touch 2nd gen and im starting to think that it will never be jailbroken, so im thinking about getting an iphone but i dont know if you still have to pay 30 bucks a month if its jailbroken. so i might just get an 1st gen ipod touch but i dont know whats good and bad about it vs the 2nd gen and if it will keep all of my payed apps...

    ah yes i have thought of this, yet im on a 1st Gen, here in england u can get a pay as you go iPhone for about £350 ($500 maybe?) but what i think you can also do, is, take an iPhone out of the shop with a £75 contract then cancel the contract the same day and only pay an extra £125. So in total its like 200 instaed of £350

    And then you unlock it using yellowsn0w. No monthly fees if you cancel the contract

    If you cancel the contract, you don't have to pay the monthly fee, whatever you do. If you unlock it using yellowsn0w, it will not ruin the iPhone.Guranteed.

    Unlocking = Freeing from Carrier.
    Jailbreaking = Freeing from Device's software limitations.

    I don't know actually. But the restriction to one carrier should be illegal.
