I while back i tried to change "slide to unlock", someone told me to take the springboard.plist and put it on the desktop then edit it, so i did, but now, this odd form of text shows up, any solutions???

Looks like you messed up your plist...hopefully you backed it up before editing? If you did just replace the original.

If not, did you just edit the olist for the theme you are using? Try disabling the theme and seeing if your problems go away. If they do, just redownload the theme and you should be good to go.

If not, you may need to restore to get everything working properly again.

umm restoring is not always the greatest solution or the first solution one should try.
it should be a last resort.

like ibizagti said disable the theme and see if it works.
do what he said and see what happens.
then you can try the cydia software MyStrings.
it changes the names of all kinds of popups and strings on your ipod so you could try that.

THEN and only then do u restore, after all possible solutions fail.
    good luck

It's what i always do when i mess something up.

and he messed up the springboard.strings, so he can restore or decrypt the 3.1.3 fw and take it fom there.

    Replace springboard.strings in /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/English.lproj/springboard.strings

Stop saying restore, all you have to do is look for the original plist..
