likely that we'll have to use them, since apple sells the original ones at 30$
i also have one which i used to charge one old mp3 and work ok but i'm concerned whether to use it on the 2nd gen ipod touch.
should any one of you try it, tell us what happened and how it worked

I have a $20 Belkin charger and it works great. Definitly use the one you have.

From experience, i bought a not-original iPod charger that worked fine the first time but nearly fried the touch when I used it again later... The darn thing blew and could have caused a short-circuit but thankfully, the power supply was alright...

Now I'm using the original one that cost me MY$109.00 but is currently doing well after numerous charges...
