iOS 4.0 I hope im onto something here

    would it be possible to take the safari.app from the 3.1.2 firmware, and replace the one on 4.0, then run safari dl manager on it? Is that kind of thing possible? Please dont flame me if this is stupid im just hopeful

    You'd probably need to edit some things. But I doubt it'd work, but there may be a small chance it would. Give it a shot, see what happens.

    Yeah i know, i mean obviously thered be more to it then just the safari.app, but i need help decrypting the 3.1.2 firmware,

    Create a custom 3.1.2 firmware (any) and change the ipsw to zip. Open it and find the Applications folder. Find Safari.app and extract it.

    While this sounds simple, it's far from it.

    You know Internet Explorer for Windows? It can never be uninstalled-- it's integrated into the OS. Safari is the same way. I'm sure you could replace every folder with the 3.x Safari, but even then I severely doubt 0.1 would accept it.

    An easier, more stable attempt to run SDM on .0/0.1 would be to try editting one of the files in SDM to make it accept firmware 4.x, but it would be buggy at best.

    Filer works nicely, when coupled with iFile. Filer costs around USD $2, though.
