I'm going to give my 2g to my wife and keep the new 4g I just bought. My question is if I restore the 2g does that also restore the 4g Of course she will have to get her own iTunes account. I just don't want my account with all my songs, apps etc wiped clean. Does iTunes recognize each Touch as different when plugged in?

Well, if you have all your songs and apps etc. synced onto itunes, iTunes would just sync the device on what you have on your itunes. So basically it doesn't matter if you have 2 ipod touches to sync and restore. Your restore won't effect any device but the 2G ipod touch.

iTunes does recognize them as separate iPods. Restore will not affect the other one.

Don't think I was quite clear. I have both Touches loaded exactly the same but I only want to restore the 2g. When I registered the new touch I used my same account and just loaded everything that was on the 2g.
