As it says above, but please help if you can.
I can't help you to remember / crack the password, but I can tell you the location of the backup files.
WINDOWS: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
Is there any way that I can tell itunes that there is no password?
lol write it down next time
why do you need a password anyway?
go to the path where hellrider said, the backup should be there.
It's not a matter of that, iTunes encrypted the backup file itself. There may be some odd program out there that can decrypt it but I wouldn't get your hopes up. Losing your app data shouldn't kill you.
Even if he finds the file, it's still encrypted.
Open the backup in notepad when you find it. Solves everything
well then i guess youll have to restore without a backup unless you can find a program that can decrypt it.
can i create a new, unencrypted backup?
Sorry, but you can't get the backup back. It's all encrypted. You can create a new backup, but it won't have any of your old stuff.
Also, search before posting. There's already a thread about this exact problem.
Sorry, how do I do that...
