Why when I convert from a 140kb .jpg to .png does it increase the file size so much? The reason I ask is because im making my own boot logo but I cant get the .png size small enough so redsn0w will accept it. Is there any way to go from .jpg to .png without increasing the size so damn much?

copy the image into paint and then go to file, save as, then choose it as a .png

You could use GIMP to save it as a PNG.

To get it small enough it has to be greyscale so idk if it would be better to change the .jpg to greyscale then to .png or change it to .png and then greyscale it
