First off I want to point out that I already jailbroke my touch but these questions apply to moving on to 3.1.2

    Since I have a 2G I hear it's untethered.
    1.can anyone confirm this?
    2. if you restore will you be able to sync back your songs to the restored device?
3.if you upgrade and restore to 3.1.2 will you be able to keep your emulator ROM saves?

please answer these ASAP because when these are answered, I will decide if I'm going to upgrade!

I'm new at this too but I'll try and help.
I know for sure that since it's a 2G it's untethered. You can sync your songs back in after it's restored and, I think you lose your ROM saves.

If you SSH into your ipod you can get the save files from Var>Mobile>Media>Roms

I know that the GBA saves are .sav files, so just copy those out and put them back once you rejailbreak it. Just make sure the ROM and save names are exactly the same.

don't you have your music and video backed up on your iTunes? why'd you spend 100$ getting them back?
