I found a thread on customizeapp.com saying this....

ALSO STEP 5-10 are done on your mac!!!!!!

This is for Mac OS X, scroll down to my 2nd post for the WIndows Walkthrough.

I've posted this to help out quite a few people on this forum, so I thought I'd make it into a nice guide with step by step instructions and screenshots. This should solve some common problems with the Customize 2.0 Alpha like the "Cannot set file" error and the application crashing at the startup screen. This requires BSD subsystem installed!

    Short List:

    1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone/iTouch
    2. Select Wi-Fi
    3. Select your Wi-Fi network
    4. Note your iPhone/iTouch's IP address (write this down or remember it)
    5. Open your Utilities folder (In Applications)
    6. Open Terminal
    7. When you get a text prompt enter ssh root@[your_ip] where [your_ip] is the IP address of your phone/touch (from step 4) and press enter
    8. When asked for a password type alpine (or dottie if you are on 1.0.2 and below) and enter again
    9. Type chmod +xs /Applications/Customize.app/Customize and press enter
    10. Last type logout, press enter, and then quit the Terminal app

    AND for windows

    Short List:
    1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone/iTouch
    2. Select Wi-Fi
    3. Select your Wi-Fi network
    4. Note your iPhone/iTouch's IP address (write this down or remember it)
    5. Download Putty Here
    6. Unzip the Putty zip and Open that folder
    7. Open PUTTY.exe
    8. Type the ip address of your phone/touch (from step 4) in the Host Name field in the window that opens and click the Open Button (lower right)
    9. If you see a window called PuTTY Security Alert (check screenshot) click Yes
    10. When you see login: in a black window type root and press enter
    11. Type alpine for the password (dottie on 1.0.2 and below) and enter
    12. Type chmod +xs /Applications/Customize.app/Customize and press enter
    13. Last type logout and press enter, this should quit PUTTY.exe (otherwise just close the window)

I'll translate: "Pardon me, but unfortunately I am still unable to get Customize working properly."

Anyways, this worked for me. Thanks.
