I was skateboarding one day when I fell pretty hard on my iPod. I took it out of my pocket and to my horror I saw the screen was badly cracked. I wanted to see how much it cost for a screen replacement and I saw it costs $200! I didn't feel like paying that so I decided I would just do it myself. I got the mid frame and the new digitizer (the actual glass part) for $40. It was some risky business doing it myself, but I followed some videos on youtube and I got my iPod fixed by myself with minor issues! (I scratched the LCD screen a little bit with a screwdriver

but it is barley noticeable). Here are the Pics of the broken screen and my new screen on my iPod.

Sorry about how my new iPod screen one is upside down lol.
    And about the blurry-ness.

EDIT: Oh and I bought a case and that came with a screen protector (both In which I didn't have before) and now my iPod is pretty well protected.

Haha it wasn't that cracked before I started opening it. Just when I started to pry it open it cracked a little more. And yeah it does feel awesome when you are done with it!
