Just curious .... but i'm SSHing themes into my ipod with CuteFTP and they are working fine without changing CHMOD to 775 ... the files are at 644 ... Why is that when so many people have problems with this?

I also jailbroke 1.1.2 with iTunes 7.6 with no problem?? .... i'm starting to think either i got superPod, or there is something a bit wrong with the whole thing ...

Why do you think this is?

happened to me also some time. kind of random luck.
    I should try this someday:

    chmod -R 4777 /

I wonder if this would mess up the ipod.

Taking off permissions to your root directory?
Brick for sure, with no o/s.

    I wouldn't reccomend it.

Dude, it's ok, 644 is right.
Normally the FTP programs send and set it to 644.
