Does anyone happen to know when the "un"tethered jailbreak will come out for the iPod touch 2g? Because this tethered thing is too hard, and I'm afraid of crashing my ipod, and I don't really feel like waiting an hour to restore it and sync all my stuff back onto it. So any news on the untethered jailbreak?

As far as we know, they're still working on it. Don't expect any ETA soon.

Sadly I'm not a psychic and cannot tell you, but the tethered jailbreak is really not that bad.

yeah but the tethered one is a pain in the ass to do (since im a noob) and dont you have to re-jailbreak it everytime you wanna do a sync or plug it into your computer?

Ironically I am psychic but i won't tell you anyway, but the teathered jailbreak is only a minor inconvenience and not as bad as the unteathered loyalists make it seem.

No, only when you reboot(turn off your iPod).

All you have to do is run a few commands to get it to boot. No need to restore or sync anything again. There are several programs on these forums that will run these commands for you though. It'll take about 10 seconds to restart.
