initially I was planning on buying a 3G iPhone in July, but waiting for a SIM hack so I could use someone other than AT&T. But today, my dad told me that the company he works for (IBM) is switching to AT&T for all of it's employees. Apparently, IBM's contract with Verizon ran out er something. As you know, you can't make Verizon an iPhone carrier, because their not SIM-based...

Supposedly T-Mobile (or someone) crawled to IBM and made a proposal, but AT&T made a cheaper deal with them. So now, starting in July sometime, all IBM employees (my dad) will switch to AT&T...

IBM gives my dad a certain number of minutes a month. My dad only uses about 40% of them. If he goes over the limit, then he has to pay the "overflow charge"

When my Dad got my Mom a phone (typical cell phone noob

) he added her cell phone as his "second business line", as a result, IBM payed for her bill as well...

So now, my dad's telling me that he'll let me buy a 3G iPhone and enter me as his "third business line", the only con, is that he says I can't web-surf (Safari) on 3G, because I'll burn up too many minutes (they count the same as call minutes)...

Oh well, Wifi web surfing is better, and it's free

that is pretty stupid. what is the point of a 3giphone if you arent going to use safari over the air? completely pointless. keep your touch and dont waste your money. i mean 50% of the main features are gone otherwise.

It still has Wifi. That counts as the Air also.

Why would I use 3G for Safari? I'd only use it for maybe an hour a month, everything else would be over wifi...

    Besides, wifi = faster
