I can't restore! ipod touch 2g

    When i press the restore button on itunes it says '' software for this ipod is not currently available. Make sure you have the lastest version of itunes and try again"

    Then get the latest version of itunes and make sure you are shift-clicking restore if your trying to chose and ipsw.

    google ipod touch 2g 2.2.1 firmware to like your desktop and when its done go to itunes and hold shift and click restore and go to the place you saved the firmware and double click and it should work.

    if that message comes up then that means he isnt trying to choose and ipsw he is just trying to restore normally. but since that message did come up he just needs to do what i said.

    Thats why I said he had to shift-click restore?

    go look at About section in general in settings, check your firmware, GOOGLE that firmware. Makes sure to include "ipsw" and "2g iPod Touch"

    download a file that comes up that ends with .ipsw.

    hold shift, click restore, then select the downloaded file
